Calling all aspiring Software Developers!

Baltic Apprenticeships is thrilled to be partnering with an established and well-respected IT business in the heart of Worcestershire called Minster Micro Computers who are looking for its next software development apprentice. Established in 1979 they have been providing total IT solutions to the business community for 40 years.

As an apprentice software developer, you will work closely with their development team to support and provide bespoke add-ons according to requirements. Your work will involve a wide range of projects, mainly using languages such as VFP, C# and SQL.

In this role, you’ll work towards your Level 3 Junior Software Developer qualification, delivered by our expert training team at Baltic Apprenticeships.

A Typical Day in the Job:

  •   Ensuring the company provides proactive support, ensuring our SLA’s (service level agreements) are always met using our ConnectWise ticketing system, to ensure client expectations are met and wherever possible exceeded.
  • Participate in the full software development lifecycle
  • Bespoke development for our customers and other suppliers of the ERP products
  • Report writing with Infor Query & Analysis, Power BI, Bright Gauge, SSRS
  • Assisting with repairs to customer data
  • Developing accounting, CRM, Payroll and supply chain software.
  • Using Visual Fox Pro, C# and SQL

Full training and support will be provided by your workplace mentor and from the Baltic team.

Salary, Hours & Benefits:

  •  £15,000 per annum
  • Monday to Friday (Hours 8:30am -5:30pm)
  •  1-hour unpaid lunch
  • 22 days holiday, plus bank/public holidays (and 3 accrued Service Days).

Desired Qualities, Skills and Knowledge:

  • A genuine interest and passion for software development
  • Knowledge and understanding of various coding languages
  • Experience with navigating IDE’s such as Visual Studio would be a bonus
  • Good communication skills
  • Effective time management and organisational skills
  • Strong attention to detail
  • A portfolio of any personal programming projects completed in your own time would be a bonus
  • Grade 6/C in Maths GCSE & Grade 4/C in English GCSE

This apprenticeship provides the skills, qualification and experience you need to immerse yourself within an exciting, fast-moving industry and become an effective Software Developer.
