Calling all aspiring Software Developers! Baltic Apprenticeships are thrilled to be partnering with a leading brand communication company called Vove to hire a Level 4 Software Development Apprentice to join their team.

As a Software Developer Apprentice, you will be an essential part of the team, responsible for working on front end development of websites, testing code, working on the full software life cycle and so much more to enhance your current skills and reach your true potential!

In this role, you’ll work towards your Level 4 Software Developer Apprenticeship, delivered by our expert training team at Baltic Apprenticeships.

A Typical Day in the Job:

  • Required to work in all areas of the development lifecycle including planning and analysis, design, development, testing, deployment and maintenance
  • Use GitHub for everything to do with software but on a day to day basis they also have their own system in place which is similar to asana for their project management tools
  • Write logical and maintainable code using mainly HTML, CSS, PHP and Javascript
  • Test their software, this could be functional, non functional testing and unit testing
  • Attend meetings with external and internal stakeholders
  • Front end website development, with opportunities to be involved in software development projects using technologies like Laravel
  • Required to create technical documentation including analysis artefacts and design documents
  • The opportunity to work on projects including a SASS product, as well as websites (which are built using WordPress or Craft).
  • Apply appropriate software design approaches and patterns to meet project requirements
  • Opportunity to be involved in wireframing of websites and planning processes

Full training and support will be provided by your workplace mentor and from the Baltic team.

Salary, Hours & Benefits:

  • Salary – £16,000 – £20,000
  • Monday – Friday – Flexible working once settled in the role
  • 20 Days Annual Leave + Bank Holidays – Increased to 25 days after year 1

  • Grade 4/C in Maths and English GCSE
