As a Software Development Apprentice, you’ll work alongside our subject matter experts and collaborate with leading global vendors to develop cutting-edge solutions. During your journey, you'll work towards your Junior Software Developer qualification delivered by our expert training team at Baltic Apprenticeships. We're committed to your growth and success.

A Typical Day in the Job:

  • UI Development using Vue.js/React.js and .Net Core
  • Leveraging your expertise in Vue.js/React.js and .Net Core to develop intuitive and responsive user interfaces for web applications.
  • Agile Methodologies: Collaborating with cross-functional teams and utilising Agile methodologies for the design and development of software solutions, ensuring rapid and iterative delivery.
  • Engaging with Colleagues: Actively engaging with colleagues to increase your awareness of the business domain, understand user needs, and ensure alignment between technical solutions and business objectives.
  • Code Creation and Reviews: Writing high-quality product code and performing code reviews for your team to ensure adherence to coding standards, best practices, and maintainability.
  • Requirements Analysis and Specification Definition: Participating in requirements analysis and specification definition processes to ensure that software solutions meet user needs and business requirements effectively.
  • Sprints, Sprint Planning & Reviews: Participating in sprint planning sessions, defining sprint goals, and contributing to sprint reviews to assess progress and make adjustments as necessary.
  • Work Management using Azure DevOps: Utilizing Azure DevOps for work management, including task tracking, issue management, and collaboration among team members.

Full training and support will be provided by your workplace mentor and from the Baltic team.

Salary, Hours & Benefits:

  • £16,000 – £18,000 per annum
  • Monday to Friday 9am – 5:30pm
  • 25 days annual leave
  • Access to pension and health care

Desired Qualities, Skills and Knowledge:

  • Grade 6 in Maths and 4 in English is essential for this role
  • Keen attention to detail
  • Problem solving abilities
  • Able to manage time effectively to ensure targets are met
  • Must be able to work independently or as part of a team
  • Good communication skills
  • Drive to continuously improve skills and experience

This apprenticeship provides the skills, qualification and experience you need to immerse yourself within an exciting, fast-moving industry and become an effective Software Developer.
