A Typical Day in the Job:
Network Support and Configuration:
- Learn to work with Cisco technologies, including Catalyst switching, routing, and management tools.
- Gain exposure to multi-vendor platforms such as Juniper, HP, Aruba, and Meraki.
- Develop skills in configuring and troubleshooting networks, including fault finding.
- Support the installation of networking and server hardware at customer sites.
- Gain hands-on experience with desktop products, Microsoft technologies, and Wintel servers.
- Provide on-site and remote support to customers, handling issues effectively and professionally.
- Participate in out-of-hours client requests as part of an on-call rota (with additional compensation).
Full training and support will be provided by your workplace mentor and from the Baltic team.
Salary, Hours & Benefits:
- £19,000 – £22,000 (with £2.5k increments and overtime opportunities)
- 35 hours per week (overtime available)

Desired Qualities, Skills and Knowledge:
- A strong interest in networking, diagnostics, and IT systems.
- Willingness to travel – Travel across the UK to customer sites (travel costs covered).
- Full UK Driving License: Required for on-site visits.
- Grade 4/C in Math's and 5/C in English
Your Training with Baltic:
You will be enrolled in a Level 4 Network Engineering Apprenticeship, providing you with formal qualifications and practical skills. You'll also have access to one-to-one mentoring sessions with senior team members and on-the-job training that aligns with your career goals.
Beyond the fundamental apprenticeship modules, you'll delve into two Be-Spoke modules and one advanced Expert module. This personalised approach will hone your abilities and deepen your expertise, positioning you as a true leader in your field. The Be-Spoke and Expert modules you will complete are:
- Problem Solving & Innovation: This course covers problem-solving techniques, defining issues, implementing solutions, and creating an innovative culture.
- Work Safety Requirements: Explore IT workplace safety covering electrical equipment, DSE best practices, and facility maintenance procedures.
- MS-900 Microsoft 365 Fundamentals: Demonstrate foundational-level knowledge of cloud-based solutions to facilitate productivity, compliance and collaboration among on-site, remote, and hybrid workers.
