About the Role

As an IT Support Apprentice, you will play a key role in assisting clients with IT-related issues, working alongside experienced professionals to develop technical skills in troubleshooting, installations, and security. This is a fantastic opportunity to gain hands-on experience and build a career in IT.

A Typical Day in the Job:

  • Helpdesk Support – Respond to IT support tickets using ConnectWise, assisting clients via phone, email, and remote access.
  • Troubleshooting & Diagnostics – Identify and resolve IT problems, including password resets, connectivity issues, hardware faults, and software installations via n-able RMM, ZenISP, and Office 365 portals.
  • Hardware & Software Installation – Set up and configure new devices, perform upgrades (e.g., HDD to SSD, RAM), and deploy applications and Windows updates.
  • Automation & Scripting – Use PowerShell and batch scripts to automate IT tasks and improve efficiency.
  • Security & Compliance – Apply appropriate security policies, manage endpoint protection tools (AV, EDR, web filtering), and review access permissions.
  • Technical Documentation – Maintain accurate records of tasks, troubleshooting steps, and configurations using IT Glue.

Salary, Hours & Benefits: 

  • Salary: £18,000 – £22,000 (depending on experience)
  • Hours: 40 hours per week (Monday – Friday)
  • Holidays: 22 days holiday + bank holidays
  • On-site shop & restaurant

Desired Qualities, Skills and Knowledge:

  • No prior experience required—just a willingness to learn and grow in IT.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work well in a team.
  • A proactive approach to problem-solving and attention to detail.
  • Required Grades – Maths 4/C, English 5/C.

Your Training with Baltic:

This Level 3 apprenticeship provides everything you need to immerse yourself in the exciting world of technology and launch a rewarding career in IT. 

You’ll get hands-on experience in all areas of technical support, from configuring devices to supporting with software, optimising performance and setting up virtual environments. With our unique curriculum and one-to-one support, you’ll accelerate your skills and get the qualification and confidence you need to thrive in IT.

You’ll be based full time with an employer and will quickly become an important part of the team. Our training is 100% online, including real-time classes with our expert trainers and self-paced courses created by industry specialists.

Expert: Microsoft 365 Fundamentals (MS-900 Microsoft 365 Fundamentals)

Bespoke: Confident Communication; Customer Service Fundamentals
