IT Support Apprentice – RADA (Royal Academy of Dramatic Art)

Are you passionate about technology and looking for an exciting hands-on IT role in a creative and dynamic environment? RADA (Royal Academy of Dramatic Art) is offering an IT Support Apprenticeship where you will gain real-world experience in IT security, networking, hardware, and software support while working within one of the world’s leading drama schools.

RADA is globally renowned for training some of the best actors, designers, and technicians in the performing arts industry. Behind the scenes, their IT team ensures that students, staff, and visitors have access to the technology and support they need to excel. This is a fantastic opportunity to develop your IT skills in a unique and inspiring environment.

A Typical Day in the Job:

  • Supporting internal users through face-to-face, email, phone, and ticketing systems (Freshdesk).
  • Implementing security processes such as password resets, antivirus configuration, two-factor authentication, and group policies.
  • Maintaining technical documentation, including security policies, network diagrams, and vendor documents.
  • Monitoring and escalating issues through the ticketing system to ensure Service Level Agreements (SLAs) are met.
  • Using troubleshooting tools like Task Manager, Meraki, WireShark, and TeamViewer to diagnose and fix technical problems.
  • Upgrading and configuring hardware such as RAM, hard drives, routers, firewalls, printers, and headsets.
  • Installing and updating software, including operating systems, Office 365, service packs, security patches, and drivers.
  • Working with cloud technologies, including Windows, Microsoft 365, and Dynamics.
  • Performing network-related tasks such as fitting cables, working on access points, and configuring switches.
  • Regularly using PowerShell scripting for batch updates and data migration.

Full training and support will be provided by your workplace mentor and from the team at Baltic Apprenticeships.

Desired Qualities, Skills, and Knowledge:

  • Strong communication skills—everything else can be taught!
  • Passionate about technology and eager to learn.
  • Customer service skills are a bonus.
  • A proactive approach and willingness to take on challenges.
  • A Grade 4/C in GCSE Maths and a Grade 5/C in GCSE English is required for this role.

Salary, Hours & Benefits:

  • £20,000 to £24,000 per annum.
  • Monday to Friday, 9am – 5pm.
  • 28 days holiday, plus bank holidays.
  • Pension contribution.

Your Training with Baltic Apprenticeships

This Level 3 apprenticeship provides everything you need to immerse yourself in the exciting world of technology and launch a rewarding career in IT. You’ll get hands-on experience in all areas of technical support, from configuring devices to supporting software, optimising performance, and setting up virtual environments.

With real-time classes, self-paced learning, and expert trainer support, this programme will give you the confidence and qualifications to thrive in IT.
